The artists
Two voices.
One cross cultural collaboration.
Ahavah and Lihao met as international students at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. At the time, Lihao was pursuing his MBA in business, while Ahavah was pursuing her master’s studies in Jewish Studies and later expanded her academic path into Biblical Archaeology. Alongside their studies, they discovered a shared love of music, began performing together, and formed a band with other university students.
When that first group did not continue, Ahavah and Lihao chose to carry their collaboration forward and created My Mood With Friends. Lihao later returned to China, then came back to Jerusalem in 2025 for his graduation from the Hebrew University’s MBA programme, where he graduated with honors as salutatorian.
During the summer following his graduation, they renewed their musical work through recording and music video production. First Light gathers eight favorite songs in English and Chinese into one cross cultural collection: music they love and artistry they respect, reinterpreted through their own voices and friendship.
The project is grounded in a simple belief: music is an international language. It can connect people across countries and backgrounds while nourishing creativity, enjoyment, encouragement, hope, and the drive to continue, no matter who you are or where you call home.
Ahavah
No one in my immediate family sang, yet music was always at the heart of our home. Jazz festivals, blues concerts, R&B vinyl records, pop and rock and roll on the radio, and country music flowing through the landscape of family gatherings nurtured my mind, body, and soul. When I discovered classical music and musical theatre, my heart began to sing a new song. I found a voice that had not existed before. I credit the Creator of the Universe with giving me this beautiful language of love and healing to share.
For First Light, Ahavah serves as co creative director and producer, performs two solo interpretations, and joins Lihao for three duets.
Lihao
Music was the first language I learned, one that needed no explanation. Before I had the words to express what I felt, melody spoke for me. My inspiration comes from the roads I have travelled, the wounds I have carried, and the words still waiting to be spoken. I never gave up on music because, when no one else understood me, it gave me a place where I could remain connected to myself. Music is more than a career choice. It is proof that my utopia, my parallel universe of freedom, truth, and possibility, is still alive.
For First Light, Lihao performs three solo interpretations, joins Ahavah for three duets, and contributes his musicianship as a guitarist.

My Mood With Friends is a band created by Ahavah and Lihao and produced through Teshuvah Studios Music Production. Created with heart and soul, the band shares music that is meaningful to them and encourages unity among the friends and communities they care for, admire, and appreciate.
